Join us to experience Little India during Pongal, a festive celebrated mostly in South India over four days, by farmers who give thanks to 'Surya', the Sun God and giver of life, for the blessings of a rich harvest. Start at Bukit Timah, the tree- lined outskirts of Singapore’s Central Business District & discover the heartlands of Singapore with its distinctive cacophony of sounds and multitude of colours and smells. Understand the varied curries cooked in different styles by the local ethnic groups: Chinese, Malay, and Southern Indian in the local wet market. Observe the rites in a Hindu temple and the fascinating stories behind the favourite festivals celebrated here. Learn about the various traditional costumes and you may be inspired to learn how to wear a sari. Nothing beats the heat better than to down a refreshing yoghurt drink called lassi. Other choices include teh tarik – or “pulled tea” and masala tea, tea boiled with spices. Feel free to ask your guide about the intricate architectural features and symbols found in the conserved shophouses located in Little India Terms & Conditions By making a reservation with us, you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted our Terms and Conditions. 1) STGS Tours agree to refund you in accordance to terms stated below when you email your cancellation request to: email@example.com If request is received 48 hours prior to service date, refund will be in full amount paid by the same payment arrangement approximately within 2 weeks, depending on your bank and/or credit card processing time.
